The book “Drawings by Gerardo Hernández Nordelo: Humor from my Pen” has finally been released in the United States, containing a collection of political cartoons created by this Cuban hero during the 16 years of his unjust imprisonment in various federal prisons within the U.S. empire.
This edition of the book has been translated into English and printed in full color from cover to cover, and includes a prologue from the well-known African-American actor Danny Glover, remarks from Hernández and his wife, Adriana Pérez, and an epilogue from Gilbert Brownstone, president of the Brownstone Foundation for art promotion.
Published by “Editorial Letra Viva,” the book is already available for sale as an e-Book, and can be downloaded through Amazon.
In its printed form, it can be purchased through the catalogues of leading U.S. bookstores, like Barnes & Noble, and Books & Books.
All of the income from the sales of the book will be dedicated to the effort to free the Cuban Five.
Gerardo Hernández Nordelo was unfairly sentenced by a court in Mia
mi to two life sentences plus 15 years in prison. During his entire incarceration, his wife has never been granted a visa to visit him. He is a “Hero of the Republic of Cuba.”
